Angiostatin is a proteolytic fragment of plasminogen and has been shown to act as a potent inhibitor of angiogenesis, particularly endothelial cell proliferation, and tumor growth. Angiostatin K1-3 isoform of angiostatin robustly induces the expression of E-selectin mRNA via the binding of AP1 and Ets-1 transcription factors.
